|Sophie Aldred with the photograph I named Bid Time Return, as a nod to the novel by Richard Matheson|
With the Sophie's World exhibition soon coming to a close, I thought it would be timely to mention that there's to be a special event at Orbital this Saturday 28th September when Sophie will return to sign photographs between 6pm & 7pm, followed by a closing celebration, all of which you can find the details of on our Facebook events page right here. Hope to see you there!
Meanwhile, I thought it was about time to post a few of the photos and the video from the private view that we had at the beginning of the month, which was not only very well attended but also blessed with a visit from a certain Time Lord!

I've mentioned a couple of times how tricky it was to track down and buy Marvel and DC comics in the 1960's but Alan McKenzie is writing a whole blog about it; including how he first discovered Marvel Comics in the Silver Age, how those comics fitted into the times they were created in and how he became obsessed with Stan's revolutionary new comic books. It's a great read, written by a man who certainly knows his stuff and who's worked in the comics industry for a good many years, writing and editing for both Marvel UK and 2000 AD. Check it out on this link: Marvel Comics in the Silver Age.

So with the work I travelled to Paris for finished by Sunday night, I relished the thought of spending the following day just wandering around Paris taking photos and looking around. And what happens?
Torrential rain is what happens, and it went on and on and on. Anyway, now I'm back and really happy to find that Ben Eshmade, demon podcaster for The Barbican has put up an interview he did with Sophie Aldred at the Orbital Gallery on Saturday. Here it is... (the post below this).
Having already posted a fair few of Ben Eshmade's terrific Arctic Circle and Barbican podcasts on Oranges, I was really pleased when he offered to interview Sophie at the Orbital signing on Saturday. It's just gone up on SoundCloud and below is a shot of Ben and Sophie chatting 'backstage' at Orbital.
