Groovy Images From The Sixties #11

Above: a classic poster designed by Alan Aldridge who was one of the most important graphic designers of the 1960's and helped create the graphic style of that era. This poster for Andy Warhol’s avant-garde Chelsea Girls was one of his most famous designs, winning a Silver Award from The Design and Art Director's Club, though it also earned him a warrant for arrest under the pornography laws of the time and he had to go into hiding until his lawyer got the charges dropped. Aldridge also created the artwork for one of my favourite albums, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy by Elton John in 1975.
