Shown above for the first time on here, the panoramic version of my new Black Widow picture featuring Manko. This goes on show in the Orbital Comics Gallery from tonight, March 1st to April 1st 2012 at #8 Newport St, London, WC2H 7JA, alongside prints of these other images, including Face it, Tiger! featuring Megan McGuire. The exhibition is called Stripped, it's curated by Jason Atomic and it celebrates the iconography of comics as well as the physical objects themselves. As the exhibition flyer states: Artists from a variety of disciplines explore their love of pulpy paper, '4 colour' off-register printing, ben-day dots, trade-dress graphics, corner boxes and mastheads, sounds effects, speech and thought bubbles, whizz lines, dynamics, generic backgrounds, fight scenes, the intriguing advertisements and more, by Jason Atomic, Len Bellinger, Steve Cook, Molly Crabapple, Dennis Franklin, Henry Hate, Garry Leach, Paul Lyons, Tiff McGinnis, Vlad Quigley, Beatrice Schleyer and Mark Wigan.
I was there last night to see the amazing variety of work going up on the walls and it's shaping-up to be a truly great exhibition, so if you live in these parts, please try and drop by.
